The lead changed hands at the end of each round and resulted in a tense climax. Contestants had to decide whether to pitch early with their answers in the final round for maximum points, or play conservatively. Eventual winners were Bristol Grammar School (Year 11). They will be joined in the regional final by second-placed Redland High School A against teams from Bath. Third place went to St Mary Redcliffe 1, who gambled succesfully in the final round to jump from 5th place.
